Editorial Policy

HealthspanDog publishes educational information to help readers understand dog healthy aging and supplement decisions. Accuracy, source quality, transparency, and useful uncertainty matter more than publishing volume.

Editorial independence and ownership

HealthspanDog is owned and funded by Fellowdays, a dog-supplement company in development. Commercial goals do not change the evidence standard. Fellowdays receives no automatic favorable rating, recommendation, or exemption from the method applied to another product.

Editorial pages remain useful without requiring a Fellowdays purchase. Commercial links and material relationships are disclosed near the relevant content.

How content is produced

  1. We define the reader question and the exact claims the page needs to address.
  2. We prioritize primary sources: regulatory records, peer-reviewed original research, consensus guidance, trial registrations, product labels, certificates, and manufacturer records.
  3. We separate evidence about a finished product from evidence about one ingredient, a mechanism, another species, or a different formulation.
  4. We record important limitations, conflicts, population differences, amounts, forms, endpoints, and dates.
  5. An accountable editor checks material statements against their cited sources before publication.
  6. Pages receive a review date and are revisited when material evidence, guidance, product facts, or regulations change.

Clinical and specialist review

A page is not described as veterinarian-reviewed, medically reviewed, or specialist-reviewed unless the page names the reviewer, states their relevant credentials and review scope, and shows the review date. If those details are absent, no external clinical review is implied.

HealthspanDog does not diagnose, prescribe, or provide individualized veterinary advice. Readers should involve a veterinarian when a dog has symptoms, a diagnosed condition, takes medication, is pregnant or nursing, is very young, has a special diet, or may be at risk from an ingredient or interaction.

Use of AI and automation

Automation may assist with organization, transcription, structured data, or early drafting. It is not accepted as a source. Material health and product statements must be checked against the underlying evidence by an accountable human editor before publication. We do not fabricate quotations, citations, experts, testing, or first-hand experience.

Comparisons and reviews

Comparisons use the same declared fields and date basis for every included product. We distinguish brand claimed, independently verified, not disclosed, not found, and not applicable. Absence of located evidence is not presented as proof that something is unsafe or ineffective.

We do not sell rankings or let affiliate compensation determine an outcome. Samples, sponsorships, affiliate relationships, and other material connections are disclosed. Companies may request factual corrections, but they do not receive editorial approval rights unless that limitation is expressly disclosed.

Updates and corrections

Minor clarity or formatting edits may occur without a formal note. Material changes to conclusions, evidence interpretation, safety context, ownership, or product facts receive a dated update or correction note. See our Corrections Policy.
